On July 19, it was learned from the construction sites of the Xinwushaoling Tunnel, a controlling project of the Zhongchuan Airport to Wuwei section of the Lanzhou-Zhangye Third and Fourth Line Railway, and three main line projects that all contract sections are making every effort to seize the construction period and accelerate project progress. The Xinwushaoling Tunnel has been excavated 10.9 kilometers, accounting for 61.5% of the engineering volume.

The Lanzhou-Zhangye Third and Fourth Line Railway is an important transportation infrastructure for deeply implementing the national "Belt and Road" strategy and a major provincial project. The line has a total length of 194.3 kilometers, with 124.5 kilometers within Wuwei. Once the project is completed, it will provide fast, convenient and efficient high-capacity transportation services for the Hexi region, open a new era of high-speed rail for Wuwei, and boost high-quality economic and social development.

According to reports, the Xinwushaoling Tunnel passes through Tianzhu Tibetan Autonomous County and Gulang County of Wuwei City, with a total length of 17.125 kilometers. It is located to the east and above the Wushaoling Extra-Long Tunnel of the Lanzhou-Wuwei Second Line. In view of the complex geology, poor surrounding rock stability, harsh climate and environment, and high construction difficulty, the participating units used existing tunnels to achieve enclosed construction operations, minimizing environmental damage and surface disturbance. Together with CRCC Heavy Industry, they developed an "unmanned arch installation machine" and a ductless ventilation technology for tunnel construction, formulated a mechanical combination scheme for excavation and support led by three-arm rock drilling jumbos and cantilever roadheaders, and fully applied complete sets of lining tooling technology to ensure construction safety and quality. According to the characteristics of different rock strata, in Class III and IV surrounding rock sections, three-arm rock drilling jumbos are used for drill-and-blast excavation, and in some Class V surrounding rock sections, cantilever roadheaders are used for mechanical excavation. Through data collection, early warning analysis, auxiliary decision-making and other means, 24-hour continuous monitoring of major operation areas at near, medium and far levels has been achieved from the site to the tunnel portal, to the command center, and to the access system at all levels, greatly improving work efficiency.

The main line construction sites are filled with the roar of machinery everywhere, and construction workers are pressing ahead with construction under the scorching sun, going all out to speed up the project. Up to now, a total of 10,892 bridge pile foundations, 1,182 pile caps, 1,165 pier and abutment bodies, and 322 precast box girders have been completed, with 63 girders erected, and a cumulative investment of 3.234 billion yuan has been completed. On May 26 this year, the project's first steel cap beam—the steel cap beam crossing the Ganwu Railway—was successfully hoisted and installed; on July 2, the 56-meter mid-span continuous beam of the No. 1 Grand Bridge in the Liangzhou section was successfully closed, marking that the entire line's project has entered a stage of full-scale effort.
