Recently, the first precast pier column was successfully poured for the Chengdu Fifth Ring Road Project undertaken by Southern Company.

The Chengdu Fifth Ring Road Qingbaijiang Section A construction project is an expressway project with a width of 40 meters and a length of approximately 850 meters. It starts near the intersection of Xianglong Avenue and Tianxing Avenue at chainage K32+172.75, crosses Wannian Road, and ends at K33+022.75. The main scope includes road, bridge, traffic safety, and pipeline works. The first precast pier column is 6.7 meters high with a square cross-section of 1.8 meters by 1.8 meters, using 21.64 cubic meters of C40 concrete and 5,954 kilograms of rebar; the column weighs 56 tons.

The first precast column generally undergoes processes including assembly of the rebar cage tying jig, installation of grouting sleeves, installation of the column's main reinforcement, installation of the main reinforcement positioning plate, installation of stirrups, formwork installation, and concrete pouring. Formwork installation is further divided into detailed sub-processes such as grinding, painting, formwork assembly, closing, turning, pouring, formwork removal, and transfer. The pier column precasting precisely follows this multi-step, complex, and accurate industrialized column production method, keeping each process under control and effectively ensuring the quality and safety of the precast pier columns. In addition, based on the characteristics of the precasting work, the project department has established and improved various quality management systems to ensure full implementation of the "three-level inspection" and "supervision on-site presence and verification" systems, and has consistently carried out the "five-no construction" and "three-no handover" systems.

The successful completion of this pour marks the official start of industrialized precasting for the elevated bridge of the Chengdu Fifth Ring Road Project, laying a solid foundation for the subsequent installation of the bridge substructure, strongly advancing the overall construction progress of the Chengdu Fifth Ring Road, and ensuring the smooth achievement of the annual production target.
