As one of the 172 key water conservancy projects under accelerated construction nationwide, the Huangshipan Reservoir in Sichuan Province has seen the construction contractor fully advance the project while ensuring quality since construction began. As of now, the hoisting of precast beams for the dam crest traffic bridge of the Huangshipan Reservoir hub project has been completed, marking that the dam crest traffic bridge of the Huangshipan Reservoir hub project is now open to traffic.

The reporter learned from the project contractor that the reservoir has fully completed the construction of the main hub project and is currently carrying out ancillary engineering construction as well as the fabrication and installation of electromechanical and metal structures. The 2021 flood control plan has been approved by the Qujiang River Flood Control Headquarters. To ensure the effective flow discharge of the five-hole spillway gates during the flood season, gate installation will be carried out after the flood season. At present, the underwater portion of the metal structure embedded parts has been installed, and the above-water portion is being installed, laying a solid foundation for the impoundment acceptance within the year.

As a key water conservancy project in the city, the Huangshipan Reservoir is of great significance for solving flood control and drinking water problems, improving the production and living conditions of people in the reservoir area and downstream areas, and promoting the development of the reservoir area.

After the project is completed, in combination with downstream levees and river channel improvement works and in joint operation with other planned reservoirs on the main and tributary streams of the Ba River, it can raise the flood control standard of Enyang District, Pingchang County seat, and riverside designated towns to withstand a 20-year return period flood. It will play a very important role in promoting local economic development, improving urban functions, and enhancing the city's image.
