Recently, the construction adit of the Pandingshan Tunnel on the Jinan-Weifang Expressway project, invested and built by Shandong Hi-Speed Group, achieved a safe and smooth breakthrough one month ahead of schedule.

The Pandingshan Tunnel has a left tube 4,110 meters long and a right tube 4,056 meters long. It is a separated extra-long tunnel with two-way six lanes, a key controlling project of the expressway, and currently the "longest expressway tunnel in Shandong." To speed up tunnel construction, the project adopted the method of using a construction adit to add working faces, creating a new setup with six working faces operating simultaneously at the tunnel entrance, exit, and inclined shaft, thereby achieving the goal of "short-interval excavation of a long tunnel." The adit, 435 meters long in total, will undertake the construction task of 1,600 meters of the main tunnel, which can shorten the total construction period of the Pandingshan Tunnel by about 6 months and win time for the full opening of the Jinan-Weifang Expressway in 2022.

According to reports, as of now, the Jinan-Weifang Expressway has completed an investment of 3.78903 billion yuan in 2021, accounting for 34.4% of the annual investment plan, with cumulative investment reaching 6.28986 billion yuan, accounting for 14.9% of the total estimated investment. Among this, the subgrade works are 21% complete, bridge works 17.1% complete cumulatively, tunnel works 6.9% complete cumulatively, and pavement works 0.3% complete cumulatively.
