On the morning of the 8th, the Huzhou-Hangzhou Railway project reached an important milestone: the 125-meter continuous girder of the Dongpo Extra-Large Bridge crossing the Fuxi River in the Deqing section was successfully closed. This is also the first large-span continuous girder to be closed in the Deqing section of the Huzhou-Hangzhou Railway, ensuring the progress of subsequent work.

Li Haitao, Party Working Committee Secretary of the Huzhou-Hangzhou Railway Project Management Department of China Railway 11th Bureau Group, introduced that the Deqing section of the Huzhou-Hangzhou Railway has four large-span continuous girders in total, and the successful closure has officially kicked off the closure of the other continuous girders. "In 10 days, we will carry out the closure of the continuous girder crossing the G25 expressway. It is expected that the closure of the last continuous girder will be completed by August 24."

As a key supporting project for the 2022 Hangzhou Asian Games and an important node project of the "Railway-on-the-Yangtze River Delta," the Huzhou-Hangzhou Railway has a main line length of 128.99 kilometers. It is a double-track high-speed railway with a design speed of 350 kilometers per hour. It is a new trunk railway channel for Huzhou to connect with Hangzhou, Shanghai, Jiangsu, Anhui, Henan and other regions, directly opening a high-speed rail channel to central China to the west, and is the southward extension channel of the Shangqiu-Hefei-Hangzhou and Nanjing-Hangzhou railways, which form the main framework of the national high-speed railway network. Once completed, the Huzhou-Hangzhou Railway will further improve the high-quality rapid rail transit network in the Yangtze River Delta.

Li Haitao stated that the Deqing section of the Huzhou-Hangzhou Railway has now completed all construction work on the lower structure of the bridge, with overall progress at 80%. It is expected that all girder box erection and continuous girder closure will be completed in August, and construction will then move on to the ballastless track and bridge deck systems, laying a solid foundation for the official opening on July 31, 2022.
