杭淳开高速公路项目推荐线位方案起点位于彩虹快速路(西延)与320国道交叉处，途径富阳区、桐庐县、淳安县和开化县，终点位于浙江省与江西省交界处，全长约246公里，估算投资约676.2亿元。
其中淳安段约97.5公里，与千黄高速共线约20公里，实际新建里程约77.5公里，主要经过临岐、左口、梓桐、姜家、浪川和汾口等6个乡镇。
该项目的建成，将成为贯通淳安县东西走向的大动脉，对贯彻落实交通强国战略部署、主动对接长三角区域一体化发展，加快浙西融杭发展，推动沿线产业集聚转型，促进区域社会经济协调发展以及全域旅游示范区的建设等方面均具有重要的意义和作用。
