Recently, the second surface course asphalt of the main line of the Mongolia Lalai River Highway Project, undertaken by Sinohydro Bureau 9 Co., Ltd. under Power Construction Corporation of China, was fully paved, marking the smooth completion of the project's main works.

The Lalai River Highway Project is a key project in Mongolia. Located to the southeast of the capital Ulaanbaatar, it is an important part of Asian Highway AH3 of the China-Mongolia-Russia Economic Corridor under the Belt and Road Initiative, and the only trunk line and transport hub connecting the Ulaanbaatar urban area with the Lalai River district and the eastern provinces of Mongolia. The project mainly involves upgrading and reconstructing a roughly 20.9-kilometer two-lane highway into a four-lane dual carriageway, including 865,000 cubic meters of subgrade filling for newly built roads, 337,000 cubic meters of excavation, and 45,000 cubic meters of asphalt concrete.
