To fully implement the decisions and arrangements of the Provincial Party Committee and Provincial Government on "dual investment promotion and dual talent attraction," and to accelerate the building of a "Four-Up Anhui," a provincial transportation project investment promotion conference was held in Hefei on June 24. The conference promoted a batch of provincial expressway, ordinary national and provincial highway, waterway engineering, and civil aviation airport projects, with a focus on 16 expressway projects (about 1,040 kilometers), 2 ordinary national and provincial first-class highway projects, 5 waterway engineering projects, and 3 airport projects, with a total investment of about 172.4 billion yuan. During the conference, the Provincial Department of Transportation signed cooperation framework agreements with financial institutions including the Anhui Branch of the Agricultural Development Bank of China and the Anhui Branch of the China Development Bank.

In recent years, Anhui Province has seized national strategic opportunities such as the integrated development of the Yangtze River Delta, and transportation infrastructure construction has made considerable progress. By the end of 2020, the province's total operating mileage of high-speed railways reached 2,329 kilometers, ranking first in the country; the province's total highway mileage reached 236,000 kilometers, including 4,904 kilometers of expressways; the total navigable mileage of inland rivers was 5,777 kilometers, and the Yangtze River and Huai River are about to be connected; the construction of the "one hub, one center" at Hefei Xinqiao Airport is being accelerated, and the new construction and expansion of five regional airports are being advanced in sequence. A comprehensive transportation system with a reasonable structure, coordinated supporting facilities, and three-dimensional connectivity has taken initial shape.

Focusing on building a strong transportation province, Anhui Province is accelerating the construction of a "123 travel transportation circle" and a "123 rapid freight logistics circle," building a "three transportation networks" consisting of a developed and efficient rapid network, a smooth and well-connected trunk network, and a widely accessible and convenient basic network; the 14th Five-Year Plan and the Outline of the 2035 Long-Range Objectives have further systematically deployed the construction of the "Four-Up Anhui" transportation system—"Anhui on Track," "Anhui on Expressways," "Anhui on Waterways," and "Anhui on Wings"—drawing a grand blueprint for building a strong transportation province.
