At 3:50 a.m. on July 5, with the successful pouring of the final concrete for the mid-span closure segment of the continuous girder, the continuous girder of the grand bridge over the Beijing-Shanghai Expressway of the Jilai Project, constructed by China Railway 17th Bureau Group, was successfully closed. This marks a new breakthrough in the project's key, difficult, and controlling works, laying a solid foundation for girder transport and erection and track engineering construction.

The Zhangqiu South Grand Bridge over the Beijing-Shanghai Expressway has a total length of 1,439.737 meters and is located in Jinan, Shandong Province. Situated in a karst area, the bridge involves great construction difficulty and high safety risks. It is a key and difficult project along the entire Jilai High-speed Railway and a controlling work of the contract section. The section crossing the main lanes of the Beijing-Shanghai Expressway at Zhangqiu South adopts continuous girder construction. The girder body has a total length of 289.5 meters, and its main span of 136 meters is the longest single span on the entire Jilai High-speed Railway. The continuous girder is a single-cell, variable-depth box girder with a maximum depth of 10.6 meters, constructed using the form traveler cantilever casting method.
