The reporter learned from the website of the Luzhou Public Resources Trading Center that public bidding for survey and design has begun for the Tianxing–Yunjin section of Ludong Avenue, which links Luxian Station on the Mianyang–Luzhou High-Speed Railway and the under-construction Luzhou East Station on the Chongqing–Kunming High-Speed Railway. This marks the official launch of preliminary work on the Ludong Avenue project, a much-watched key project in Sichuan Province. As early as the beginning of this year, Ludong Avenue was included by the Sichuan Provincial Development and Reform Commission in the "List of Key Projects in Sichuan Province for Accelerated Preliminary Work in 2021," which explicitly required that the project feasibility study report, two-stage design documents and preliminary formalities be completed this year.

According to the plan, the Tianxing–Yunjin section of Ludong Avenue is located between Tianxing Town and Yunjin Town in Luxian County, passing through Tianxing Town, Niutan Town, Desheng Town, Qifeng Town and Yunjin Town. The bidding content shows that, in addition to the Tianxing–Yunjin section of Ludong Avenue, the survey and design work also includes a Qifeng connecting line.

The Ludong Avenue route has a total length of about 35.8 kilometers (including one railway overpass), with a designed subgrade width of 32 meters. The shoulders on both sides are 3.25 meters each; the median strip and edge strips are 3 meters; and the main road has six lanes in both directions.

The Qifeng connecting line, i.e. the link between Qifeng Town and Ludong Avenue, has a total length of about 3.8 kilometers and a designed subgrade width of 18 meters, with shoulders of 1.75 meters on each side, a 0.5-meter double yellow line in the middle, and a four-lane main road in both directions. The two roads involve a total investment of about 3.8 billion yuan, are both designed to first-class road standards, and use asphalt concrete pavement.

The planned Ludong Avenue route runs east–west across the central part of Luxian County. Once completed, it will link Luxian Station on the Mianyang–Luzhou High-Speed Railway and the under-construction Luzhou East Station on the Chongqing–Kunming High-Speed Railway, laying the foundation for promoting the construction of Ludong New City and integrating it into the Chengdu–Chongqing Twin-City Economic Circle.
