As of the end of June 2021, a total of 80 projects of the main body of the Yangtze-to-Huaihe River Water Diversion Project have commenced construction, accounting for 98.76% of all projects, with cumulative investment of 66.870 billion yuan, or 76.39% of the total investment. Of this, 5.909 billion yuan was completed from January to June this year, up 3.57% year on year.

Major progress has been made in a number of key node projects
The Zhuji Station and Longde Booster Station in the river water north diversion section have successively entered trial operation, and the Bozhou Reservoir has been officially completed, enabling contingent emergency water supply to Bozhou City. The steel aqueduct of the main canal of the Pi River has been officially put into water conveyance, providing strong support for urban water supply and agricultural irrigation water demand in Hefei City. The underwater portion of the Huangpi Lake regulating sluice has been completed, meeting flood-control conditions such as water retention and flood prevention.

Land acquisition, relocation and resettlement wrap-up work is progressing steadily
To date, a cumulative investment of 27.481 billion yuan has been completed for land acquisition and relocation, accounting for 88.01% of the compensation investment. A total of 79,900 mu of permanent land and 141,900 mu of temporary land have been acquired, and 2.6879 million square meters of houses have been demolished, all exceeding 90% of the total task. Construction of 33 resettlement sites has started, and 3 have been completed.

Project construction funds have been fully secured in place
Since the beginning of this year, 150 million yuan in central subsidy investment has been secured. As of June 23 this year, a cumulative total of 49.741 billion yuan in project construction funds has been raised, including 24.038 billion yuan of central funds and 20.228 billion yuan of provincial funds (including 2 billion yuan of special bonds), providing solid financial guarantees for comprehensively advancing project construction.

Phased results have been achieved in project legislation and supporting planning
The Regulations of Anhui Province on the Administration of the Yangtze-to-Huaihe River Water Diversion Project (draft for review) has been completed and submitted to the provincial government. The Standing Committee of the Provincial People's Congress has included the regulations on the administration of the Yangtze-to-Huaihe River Water Diversion Project in its 2021 legislative review items. The overall plan for ecological protection and tourism along the project route has been approved and issued by the provincial government and deployed for implementation. The overall plan for corridor protection and regional development along the project route has been submitted to the provincial government for approval.
