On June 30, good news came from the construction site of the Lujiazui Tunnel project on the Cangba Expressway in Longshan Town, Cangxi County, Guangyuan City, Sichuan Province, undertaken by the Fourth Company of China Railway 15th Bureau Group: the main tunnel of the Lujiazui Tunnel has broken through the 1,000-meter mark.

The Lujiazui Tunnel is located in Longshan Town, Cangxi County, Guangyuan City, Sichuan Province, on the Cangxi-Bazhong Expressway. The tunnel is designed with left and right tubes; the left tube is 2,375 meters long and the right tube is 2,329 meters long. With complex geological conditions, it is a key and controlling project of the Cangba Expressway and is constructed by the Fourth Company of China Railway 15th Bureau.

It is understood that, constrained by the high-mountain and deep-gorge terrain of the Qinba Mountain system, the tunnel portal area features dense forests, cascading waterfalls and springs, gorge scenery, and cliffs and steep rock faces that can be seen everywhere. The project department formulated construction organization plans and various emergency response plans, carefully selected specialized tunnel construction personnel, and gave full play to the exemplary and leading role of Party member vanguard posts and youth commando teams, charging ahead to ensure the safety, quality, and progress of the tunnel. The tunnel has been excavated 1,677.8 meters, and the completed pouring of the tunnel has broken through the 1,083-meter mark. It is expected to be holed through in December 2021.
