On June 22, with the commencement of grabbing by the Zhongrui Heavy Industry ZG70H diaphragm wall hydraulic grab, the Zhongyi Road Station of Wuhan Metro Line 12 was officially announced to start construction. The project is undertaken by Wuhan Century Tianfeng, with the Zhongrui Heavy Industry ZG70H diaphragm wall hydraulic grab serving as the "main force" in this project.

It is understood that Line 12 is the only loop line in Wuhan's rail transit planning network and an important link in the "ring + radial" skeleton structure of the long-term rail transit network. It connects the three towns of Wuhan, passes under the Yangtze River twice and under the Han River once, and links seven central urban districts: Qiaokou, Jianghan, Jiang'an, Qingshan, Hongshan, Wuchang and Hanyang. The line is about 59.9 km long, making it the longest loop line in Asia and the second longest in the world; it has 37 stations, including 26 transfer stations, and can transfer with 18 metro lines. Once completed, the line will become Wuhan Rail Transit's "King of Transfers," effectively enhancing the loop line's passenger appeal, alleviating passenger flow pressure in the central area, and being of great significance for accelerating the construction of key urban development areas and improving the city's comprehensive transportation system.
