The smooth opening of the bridge will greatly facilitate the daily travel of Gaoyou residents, become a beautiful landscape on both banks of the Yan River, and add new momentum to the construction of "Four Gaoyou."

Mayor Zhang Li attended the ceremony and announced the official completion and opening of the Weigao Bridge.

The Weigao Bridge is an urban secondary trunk road bridge connecting Weigao Road and Pinghuainan Road on both banks of the Yan River. It is an important transportation infrastructure for promoting the integrated development of the city's main urban area and the eastern new urban area, and is a happiness-oriented livelihood project that eases urban traffic pressure and improves residents' travel conditions.

The project was independently invested in and constructed by the Municipal Water Investment Group, with a total investment of approximately 123 million yuan. The bridge has a total length of 492 meters, including a main bridge 116 meters long and 24 meters wide, and approach bridges 376 meters long and 24 to 26 meters wide. The bridge's navigable design grade is Class III, the design load is Urban Class A and Highway Class I, the design speed is 50 km/h, and the design service life is 100 years.

The main bridge of the Weigao Bridge adopts a large-span continuous steel box girder structure, the first of its kind in Gaoyou City. The ribbon arches on both sides add a touch of grace and vitality to the bridge.

Municipal leaders Zheng Zhiming, Li Shenhong, Wu Huishan, and Zhang Yongjun attended the completion and opening ceremony. The attending municipal leaders also rode in vehicles to experience and feel the smoothness and convenience brought by the opening of the Weigao Bridge.

Weigao Bridge: Promoting the Integrated Development of the Main Urban Area and the Eastern New Urban Area

The Weigao Bridge project officially started trial drilling on March 24, 2020, was completed in early June 2021, passed dynamic and static load tests, and underwent completion acceptance on the 16th of this month.
