The Wuqiangxi Hydropower Station, located in Yuanling County on the lower reaches of the main stream of the Yuan River in Hunan Province, generates an average annual power output of 5.37 billion kWh, sending a steady stream of clean energy across the three Xiang and four Shui regions. As a national key reservoir for flood control, large vessels can travel along the high-grade waterway directly to Dongting Lake; the thousand-li Yuan River has become a green energy corridor and transportation corridor benefiting the people.

The Wuqiangxi Hydropower Station, which has been in operation for 24 years, began its expansion project in 2019. As the expansion project mainly includes the surface powerhouse works, tailrace channel works, and the flood discharge shaft behind the expansion powerhouse, requiring highly safe rock bolt support and mountain rock excavation, mechanized operation became the first choice for the project.

After comparing and screening multiple construction plans, the XCMG TZ2A dual-arm rock drilling jumbo emerged as the 'top seed.' The real reason the contractor chose XCMG equipment is that the XCMG TZ2A dual-arm rock drilling jumbo demonstrates the advantages of mechanized modernization in improving efficiency, reducing labor, improving the environment, controlling overbreak and underbreak, and ensuring construction safety, guaranteeing safety and high efficiency.

Before the rock drilling jumbo entered the site, a single working face required nearly twenty people working continuously; after the XCMG jumbo entered, the workforce was reduced by two-thirds and the advance rate increased by 50%... the contrast is immediately obvious.

More importantly, the XCMG TZ2A rock drilling jumbo features an advanced overall system, fast drilling speed, high efficiency, a compact structure and flexible mobility, making it convenient for operation in narrow spaces. It achieves a drilling depth of 4,000 mm and a rock drill impact frequency of 18.8 kW. It adopts proprietary technology for full-range parallel boom maintenance and ensures precise positioning without error, with configuration and functions perfectly meeting the project's construction needs.
