On May 20, the Yichang Three Gorges Dam-Crossing Jiangbei Expressway in Hubei, built with the participation of the Second Highway Engineering Bureau and surveyed and designed by China Highway Engineering Consultants Corporation (CHEC), successfully passed completion acceptance.

The Three Gorges Dam-Crossing Jiangbei Expressway is located in Yiling District, Yichang City, Hubei Province. It starts in Taipingxi Town and ends at its junction with the Yiba section of the Shanghai-Chengdu Expressway. The project is about 36.5 kilometers long, built to a two-way four-lane standard with a design speed of 80 kilometers per hour. The entire line includes 35 bridges and 10 tunnels, with a bridge-tunnel ratio of nearly 71%.

Once completed, the project will improve the comprehensive transportation system for crossing the Three Gorges Dam, enhance the agglomeration and radiation functions of Yichang's main urban area, and promote the rapid development of the Three Gorges tourism industry.
