On June 1, the North Tianshan Tunnel, a key control project along the entire Xinjiang G577 Jinghe-Yining Highway Project, successfully commenced construction. Located in Nilka County, Ili Kazakh Autonomous Prefecture, the North Tianshan Tunnel is a double-tube highway tunnel with a total length of 11,880 meters; the entrance section under construction (including the No. 1 inclined shaft) has a main tunnel length of 5,620 meters.

　　The North Tianshan Tunnel has complex geological conditions, crossing sections of regional major faults and minor faults, with risks of mud and water inrush and collapse. The cross-sections of the tunnel's various passages change frequently and crisscross, making ventilation for ultra-long-distance construction under complex conditions highly difficult and construction safety risks extremely high. At the same time, the tunnel has high technical standards and strict environmental protection requirements, posing significant challenges during construction.

　　To ensure the smooth start of tunnel excavation, the construction unit held multiple discussions, reversed the construction schedule and formulated detailed construction plans, and made advance arrangements for personnel, materials, and machinery at the construction site. With the overall goal of building a quality project, the construction unit is committed to standardized and information-based construction management and to promoting the "four new technologies"; strengthening process management and safety and quality control, emphasizing the comparison and demonstration of technical schemes for key and difficult projects, and reinforcing the implementation of safety and quality responsibilities; and advancing green construction of the project, carrying out standardized construction safety, and creating a "Safe Construction Site."
