On the evening of May 28, the left line of the Keshen Section (Keyuan Station–Shenzhen University East Station) on Shenzhen Metro Line 13 successfully broke through. With this, the Keshen Section has become the fifth section on the entire line to achieve breakthrough on both lines.

The shield for the left line of the Keshen Section was launched from the small-mileage end of Shenzhen University East Station, ran along Keyuan Avenue and passed beneath Gaoxin South 9th Road, and was received at the large-mileage end of Keyuan Station. The tunnel has a total length of approximately 368.8 m, a burial depth of 17.1–19.0 m, a line spacing of 10.28–17.33 m, and a minimum horizontal clear distance between the left and right lines of approximately 4.08 m.
