The Hangzhou Center project, located on the east side of Wulin Square and adjacent to the Zhejiang Association for Science and Technology Building, has reached a new milestone.

The deep foundation pit project of Hangzhou Center has been fully and safely constructed up to the ±0.00 level, while ensuring the normal operation of the surrounding subway station hall and the normal construction of the shield tunnel during the construction period. This marks the successful completion of the deep foundation pit work for Hangzhou's deepest commercial real estate project.
According to the plan, the Hangzhou Center project is a TOD complex built above the Wulin Square Station of Metro Line 1 and Line 3. It consists of Towers A and B plus a podium, with the two towers standing about 130 meters tall. It is a downtown landmark TOD urban complex integrating the Four Seasons Hotel, MixC, and high-end office buildings. At the same time, the project has six underground levels, with a maximum excavation depth of about 34.5 meters, setting a precedent for commercial real estate in Hangzhou.
As an above-station development located in the urban core and built on an operating subway line, the engineering difficulty is imaginable. According to a person in charge from the general contractor Shanghai Construction No.1 Construction Group Co., Ltd., the deep foundation pit project is a highly complex systematic undertaking with very high requirements for personnel, materials, equipment, management, and technology. Generally, deep foundation pit construction takes at least half a year and at most one to two years, while Hangzhou Center took about three years to complete.
It is worth noting that, for safe construction, Hangzhou Center promoted a "smart construction site" and adopted many "black technologies": for example, CCTV robots were used to inspect rainwater and sewage pipelines, and listening inspection was used to test the water supply pipes on Zhongshan North Road; the Huiyan AI system was developed through cameras deployed on site to conduct artificial intelligence analysis of big data from on-site video images; on-site personnel were intelligently managed; IoT technology was used to monitor construction machinery in real time; and full-cycle monitoring technology provided real-time feedback on foundation pit conditions... making the foundation pit project safer and more reliable.
A person in charge from China Resources Land stated that the main structure of Hangzhou Center is expected to be completed by the end of this year, with interior decoration, acceptance, and leasing to follow next year. The commercial portion of MixC is expected to open as early as 2023.
