Super Equipment Speeds Up a Super Project

Spanning the Wanjiang River once again, the Ma'anshan Yangtze River Highway-Railway Bridge sets multiple world records among bridges of its kind: the main pier has a total height of 345 m, equivalent to a 115-story building, making it the world's tallest bridge tower; the main pier pile foundation uses 60 bored piles with a diameter of 4 m, the most numerous and largest-diameter bored piles on an inland river in the world.

At present, the first batch of bored piles for the Ma'anshan Yangtze River Highway-Railway Bridge has officially begun drilling, and construction of the main pier pile foundation has fully kicked off. Almost all XCMG rotary drilling rig models of 55 tons and above have assembled here, launching a fierce battle on this world-class project.

Crawler cranes, excavators, rotary drilling rigs... At the large pile foundation construction site, within a work area of nearly 10,000 square meters, a dense array of large machinery is running at full power, with seven rotary drilling rigs serving as the backbone of the site.

As an important foundation component of a bridge, the quality of pile foundation work directly determines the bridge's durability, safety and service life.

To enable this world-class river-crossing project to stand firm against wind and rain for years to come, the project team also put great effort into equipment support! The XCMG XR800E, the world's largest-tonnage rotary drilling rig, and the XCMG XR700E, the world's deepest-drilling rotary drilling rig, were deployed together for the first time to drill super-large 4 m diameter piles, speeding up this super project.

Full-Load Operation to Seize the Golden Construction Period

To seize the current golden construction period of low water levels, the bustling construction scene extends from the middle of the river all the way to the riverbank.

To ensure the bored piles are completed to excellent quality in one go and to overcome difficulties such as complex geological conditions and water flow scouring, XCMG technical personnel stayed at the site and worked with the project team to continuously optimize construction techniques and innovate drilling methods, ensuring the construction quality of the pile foundation.

Up to now, a total of 22 piles have been completed on site, with each rig working more than 500 hours per month on average. XCMG rotary drilling rigs are operating continuously at full load, racing against time and against floods.
