On May 17, with the successful demolition of the last overpass, the demolition and removal of all overpass bridges along the Yangmao Expressway expansion project was officially completed, marking another solid step toward the goal of completion and opening to traffic by the end of the year.

During the project construction period, a total of 28 overpasses needed to be demolished and newly built along the Yangmao Expressway. The smooth demolition of these 3 overpass bridges this time resolved the bottleneck in building eight lanes and will help facilitate the smooth implementation of the subsequent pavement works. This overpass demolition task spanned both Yangjiang and Maoming, with long distances between construction points, heavy traffic volumes along the construction points, and high difficulty in traffic organization, creating certain pressure to maintain smooth traffic flow.

To this end, the Yangmao Expressway expansion project coordinated with multiple parties including traffic police departments, expressway operators, and construction units, refined the traffic organization plan, adopted a fully closed diversion and control model of "expressway to expressway," set up warning signs level by level starting from distant points, and carried out work such as ensuring the passage of transport vehicles, traffic diversion, and clearing service areas, ensuring safe and orderly construction and traffic and improving construction efficiency.

At present, the Yangmao Expressway expansion project has completed 100% of its subgrade works, 90% of its bridge works, and 72% of its pavement works, and is expected to be completed and opened to traffic by the end of this year.
