In order to standardize the design and monitoring of building deep foundation pit projects in our city, the Municipal Supervision General Station organized the drafting of the "Notice on Standardizing the Design and Monitoring of Building Deep Foundation Pit Projects in Beijing (Property Projects)" and the "Notice on the Partial Revision of the Beijing Local Standard (DB11/489-2007)" (hereinafter referred to as the "two Notices"), and organized solicitation meetings on August 2 and August 6, 2013. Wang Xin, Director of the Engineering Quality Division of the Municipal Housing and Urban-Rural Development Commission; Hao Qingbin of the Survey Office of the Municipal Planning Commission; Xu Guizhen, Deputy Director of the Municipal Supervision General Station; Zhou Yucheng, Chairman of the Beijing Urban Construction (600266, Stock Bar) Science and Technology Promotion Association; and technical heads in charge of foundation pits and industry experts from 26 construction, construction and design units, including Beijing Urban Construction Real Estate Development Company, Beijing Geological Engineering Company, and AVIC Survey and Design Research Institute, attended the meeting.

　　The meeting fully discussed the contents of the two "Notices" regarding the qualifications of foundation pit design units, the responsibilities of construction units and design units, the classification of foundation pit sidewall safety levels, and the requirements for deep foundation pit monitoring, clarified the definition of deep foundation pit projects, and formed the "Expert Opinions on the Definition and Monitoring Provisions of Deep Foundation Pit Projects in the Beijing Area."

　　Attendees stated that the two "Notices" regulate the conduct of deep foundation pit construction, construction and design units, clarify deep foundation pit monitoring items and monitoring frequency, and have played a positive role in promoting the safety of deep foundation pit projects and the development of the deep foundation pit industry in our city.
