Scientific research tackling key problems, striving for a "good start"

　　On February 16, the laboratory of the Research Institute's Testing and Test Center was brightly lit, and the locomotive test team was bustling with activity carrying out power-concentrated train power supply tests. The rumbling sound of rotating motors and the rising and falling sounds of electrical equipment operation added a lively and busy atmosphere to the otherwise quiet test area.


　　The Fuxing power-concentrated EMU project has a tight test cycle and heavy tasks. Since the tests started at the end of last year, various test items have been fully rolled out. The test team worked at full capacity during the Spring Festival holiday and responded actively; team members divided work and cooperated to fully advance the test progress. With a spirit of hard work and struggle, they cracked the hard nuts and achieved a phased victory in testing.

　　Sounding the delivery "assembly call," sprinting toward a "good start"


　　After completing the first batch of shipments, the delivery alarm was not fully lifted. After carefully checking customer needs, it was found that there was still a delivery gap of nearly 300 units. The two major factories urgently organized procurement, logistics, production teams, warehouses, and other links to plan and analyze response plans. The biggest challenge was whether production personnel could meet the demand for double-shift production during the Spring Festival holiday. The production team leaders and relevant persons in charge immediately completed the personnel demand analysis and notified the remaining employees one by one of their reporting times. In the end, all employees participating in shift production reported to work on time, ensuring that emergency production and delivery continued to operate.


　　On February 19, the launch ceremony for the Greater Bay Area Cruise Ship No. 2 project was held at the China Merchants Industry Haimen Base. This project is a sister ship of "Greater Bay Area No. 1," delivered in August last year. The ship continues to focus on the concepts of green, energy-saving, and environmental protection, and Shanghai Hange continues to provide its hybrid DC grid propulsion system.

　　In 2020, all members of the Shanghai Hange Greater Bay Area No. 2 ship project team feared no difficulties. Through the joint efforts and full cooperation of multiple parties, they firmly held every milestone and ensured the smooth launch of China Merchants Group's Greater Bay Area Cruise Ship No. 2.


　　Just after the Spring Festival holiday, Xiangyang Electric fully started work, mustering ox-like vigor to run at a gallop, setting off a small climax of starting and resuming work and getting the new year's production and operations off to a good start.

　　Zhuzhou Electromechanical has fully entered working mode, and every production line is busy. Employees are striving at their posts, workers in the workshop are carrying out operations in a tense and orderly manner, and the production site is bustling. The manufacturing headquarters has also welcomed a small post-holiday delivery peak, with volume rising right from the start. Facing production pressure, the front-end process coil team reported to work early on the sixth day of the first lunar month. At the same time, according to material completeness, they targeted bottleneck processes, launched a "day plus night" schedule, implemented continuous two-shift operations, and drew personnel from different production lines to support product final assembly, ensuring order delivery.

　　Order wins and product deliveries, welcoming a "good start"

　　New Material won the first batch order for air springs in the United States, welcoming a "good start." Recently, Times New Material successfully won the public tender for the batch procurement of double-convolution air springs for the overhaul of New York City Subway R142 cars in 2021, achieving a breakthrough from zero for air spring products in the U.S. passenger car maintenance market and adding an important stroke to the start of the "14th Five-Year Plan."

　　As one of the public subway systems with the longest history in the world, the New York City Subway has more than 6,000 vehicles in operation. The development process for its maintenance parts products is extremely complex and the entry threshold is high. Previously, it had long been in a sole-supply state, and other air spring products for the New York City Subway were basically monopolized as well.

　　To break this monopoly, Times New Material seized the opportunity to obtain a chance for sample installation and trial operation. After more than a year of installation and operation testing, in August 2020 the product finally successfully passed verification, and Times New Material officially became a qualified supplier for this product.


　　 On the fifth day of the first lunar month, after receiving an urgent delivery task from the customer, employees of the Times Electric Electric Vehicle Business Unit upheld the spirit of "bravely shouldering heavy burdens" and, guided by meeting customer needs, urgently sounded the delivery assembly call. Overnight, they completed the assembly of personnel in production, warehouse, logistics and shipping, and other related business chains, and all production preparations were ready.

　　From receiving the delivery demand to loading the first batch of finished products from the warehouse and completing shipment, they created a new "automotive speed"—completing the shipment of the first batch of 144 finished products within one day.


　　On February 22, Beijing Heavy Industry raised the curtain on production for the Year of the Ox. Walking into the workshop, employees were full of energy and enthusiasm, presenting a tense yet orderly production scene: cleaning, assembly, and testing proceeded in good order, while counting, packaging, and transportation were closely linked. As of now, Beijing Heavy Industry has cumulatively completed the shipment of 6 units of equipment, welcoming a "good start."
