On February 19, at the entrance of the Zhongliangshan Tunnel on the Chongqing-Kunming High-Speed Railway, engineering machinery and equipment were operating in an orderly manner. The reporter learned from the Sichuan-Chongqing section pre-station Bid Section I project department of the Chongqing-Kunming High-Speed Railway project of China Railway 11th Bureau Group that construction did not stop during the Spring Festival, with more than 400 builders working on the front line. The Zhongliangshan Tunnel, a schedule-critical project for the entire Chongqing-Kunming High-Speed Railway line under the bid section's responsibility, is expected to enter main construction at the end of this month.

　　The Chongqing-Kunming High-Speed Railway is an important component of the Beijing-Kunming passenger transport corridor among the "eight vertical and eight horizontal" high-speed railway corridors in the country's Medium- and Long-Term Railway Network Plan. The Sichuan-Chongqing section pre-station Bid Section I of the Chongqing-Kunming High-Speed Railway has a total length of more than 40 kilometers, with the construction route passing through Shapingba District, Dadukou District, Jiulongpo District, the High-Tech Zone, Jiangjin District, Bishan District and other places. The project construction content includes key projects such as the Zhongliangshan Tunnel, the Huafute Bridge with high piers and long spans, subgrade and station yard works, and construction adjacent to operating lines at Chongqing West Station.

　　According to the construction plan, the Chongqing Shapingba to Jiangjin section of the Chongqing-Kunming High-Speed Railway is expected to successively start main construction at the end of this month, among which the schedule-critical Zhongliangshan Tunnel will officially start tunnel excavation.
