The Huai River Water Supply and Irrigation Project in the Dabie Mountains Revolutionary Old Area of Henan Province is a major project in the national "13th Five-Year Plan" and one of the first ten major water conservancy projects promoted by Henan Province under the "Four Waters Co-governance" initiative. The main construction content of this project includes three parts: the Xixian hub project, the urban water supply project, and the irrigation district backbone project. A total of 689 structures of various types will be newly built or demolished and rebuilt (including 1 Xixian hub, 1 urban water supply pumping station, and 687 irrigation district structures), forming a layout of the Huai River water supply and irrigation project controlled by the Xixian hub on the main stream of the Huai River and with urban water supply and irrigation canal systems as the backbone, and improving the comprehensive water resources utilization engineering system of this revolutionary old area.


　　The vibro-compacted sand piles of the hub project are arranged in the areas of the regulating sluice chamber, upstream apron, downstream stilling basin, upstream bottom protection and scour prevention trench, downstream apron and scour prevention trench, and left and right bank wing walls. The pile depth is 7–13.5 m, and the pile spacings are 1.7 m and 2.5 m respectively; the design requirements for bearing capacity are 180 kPa and 125 kPa respectively, the relative density of the foundation sand layer is ≥0.7, and the heavy dynamic penetration test blow count of the pile body is not less than 8 blows.
