On February 8, 2021, after four years of construction, the Dakaimen to Jiasha Expressway in Yunnan (hereinafter referred to as the Dajia Expressway) opened to traffic along its entire line. The Dajia Expressway is the first expressway in Xinping County, Yuxi City. After opening, the driving time from Xinping county seat to Jiasha will be shortened from more than one hour to half an hour, bringing great convenience to local residents.

　　The Dajia Expressway starts at Dakaimen in Xinping County, Yuxi City, connecting with the Kunming-Mohan Expressway, and ends at Jiasha Town, Xinping County. The main line is 66.65 kilometers long, with 17 tunnels and 46 bridges designed, and a bridge-tunnel ratio of over 70%. The project crosses the eastern foot of the central section of the Ailao Mountains. The mountainous terrain along the route is complex, with clearly developed mountain gullies and large gully water convergence during the rainy season, greatly increasing construction difficulty.

As a section of the Yunnan Yuxi-Lincang-Mengding Port Expressway, the Dajia Expressway is a key construction project in the Central Yunnan Urban Economic Circle. The full opening of the Dajia Expressway is of great significance for improving the layout of Yunnan Province's expressway network, enhancing the transport service level of national and provincial trunk highways, alleviating regional traffic pressure, promoting coordinated and high-quality economic and social development in Central Yunnan, and consolidating and expanding the achievements of poverty alleviation.
