Recently, the Xiaoqing River Jinan Port and the Provincial Highway 103 Tourist Road projects in Shandong started construction in a centralized manner. As the hub project for the resumption of navigation on the Xiaoqing River, Jinan Port is expected to be completed by the end of 2022 and will be built into an inland river hub port and leading port north of the Yangtze River featuring high technological content, complete functions, well-equipped facilities, and high environmental protection standards. After the Provincial Highway 103 Tourist Road opens to traffic, it will accelerate the rapid development of the tourism industry in the southern mountainous area of Jinan, help create a new urban development pattern of “Southern Beauty” for Jinan, and promote the integrated development of Jinan and Tai'an.

　　Sun Licheng, Secretary of the Jinan Municipal Party Committee, Sun Shutao, Mayor of Jinan, and Jiang Cheng, Director of the Shandong Provincial Department of Transport, attended the commencement event. Jiang Cheng stated that efforts should be made to build the Xiaoqing River Jinan Port and the Provincial Highway 103 Tourist Road into quality projects and projects satisfactory to the people, set a benchmark for transportation engineering construction, and make contributions to building a modern international metropolis that is “big, strong, beautiful, prosperous, and connected.”

　　The Xiaoqing River Jinan Port is planned to include the main urban port area and the Zhangqiu port area, forming a “one port, two port areas” pattern. The project's overall planned port shoreline is 6,170 meters, with a total of 27 productive berths and a total land area of 2.46 million square meters. It will mainly handle container transportation and serve large enterprises in Jinan and its surrounding hinterland. Cargo throughput is expected to reach 12.3 million tons by 2030.

　　The Provincial Highway 103 Tourist Road project starts on the south side of Hongfu Road Intersection in Shizhong District, Jinan, and ends at the border between Jinan and Tai'an, with a total length of about 29 kilometers and an estimated investment of 4.05 billion yuan. The project connects with the South Ring Expressway, the Jinan-Tai'an Expressway, and Provincial Highway 317, and has abundant tourism resources along the route.
