Currently, the approach bridge connecting the main bridge of the Qianjiang Hanjiang Bridge to the Qianjiang-side ground has been fully completed, and the main bridge has reached 75% completion. Next, ancillary bridge deck works and lighting works will be carried out, with the overall project scheduled to open to traffic by the end of 2021.

The bridge is an important component of the new S247 planned by the province. It starts from Danpu Village, Zhanggang Town, Tianmen City, runs south along the Wuyi Road corridor of Zhanggang Town, crosses the Hanjiang River levee on the north bank at Jiujiagang, then passes through Wangjiaguai Village and ends at Kangling Village, Zhugen tan Town, our city, connecting to the existing Qianyang Line.

The Qianjiang Hanjiang Bridge has a total length of 6.74 kilometers and is the first cable-stayed bridge in Qianjiang City. The main span is 200 meters, with dual two-way four lanes, a design speed of 80 km/h, and a vehicle load standard of Highway Class I. Among them, the Tianmen-side approach is 2.842 kilometers, the Hanjiang Bridge is 2.46 kilometers, and the Qianjiang-side approach is 1.438 kilometers.

After the Qianjiang Hanjiang Bridge project is completed and opened to traffic, the long-standing safety hazards at Wangguai Ferry will be thoroughly eliminated, providing a safe travel environment for people on both banks. At the same time, it will greatly promote the integration of logistics and the integration of the tertiary industry on both banks, and powerfully drive the high-quality economic and social development of the two cities.
