A recent rainstorm not only inconvenienced residents but also posed sudden challenges to some major projects under construction. However, at Beishan Industrial Park, the Weichai Yaxing project site welcomed a special group of service providers: more than 50 Party member cadres were busy inspecting the site and draining water.

At the site, the reporter met Lu Genxi, director of the Beishan Industrial Park Management Committee and Party secretary of Huaishu Town. His shoes were soaked through and his face covered with water droplets. "After checking the weather forecast, everyone sprang into action. Party members and cadres stationed in the district and the park were assigned tasks to ensure the rainstorm would not affect project progress," Lu said. To ensure the project could operate as soon as possible, the district dispatched elite personnel, moved offices to the project frontline, and formed service teams providing "group-style services" and "on-site services." From project approval to water and power coordination, dedicated staff handle and track the entire package of matters, with the project side only assigning two people to assist.

"Party member cadres serving on the frontline have produced obvious results," Lu said with deep feeling. Project construction involves multiple departments including land, public security, safety supervision, water and power. In the past, townships and parks had to coordinate everything themselves, sometimes finding it beyond their capacity. Now the district provides forward-leaning services, making it much easier to coordinate and solve problems.

"The harder the task, the more Party member cadres should charge to the front; good steel should be used on the blade," said Zhang Yaowu, Party secretary of Hanjiang District. Attracting and serving major projects involves numerous and difficult tasks, and this is when the vanguard role of Party member cadres comes to the fore. The reporter learned that to advance project construction, Hanjiang introduced a system for the four district leadership teams and district-level department Party member cadres to advance major projects, as well as the "Three Hundreds" action for leading cadres to "visit 100 enterprises, boost 100 innovations, and resolve 100 difficulties," keeping project construction running at high speed.

"Nearly 600 Party member cadres across the district are linked to serving 29 projects. Many of them shuttle between their units and the projects, moving their offices to the project frontline." Shen Wenjie, deputy director of the Hanjiang District Party Committee Organization Department, leads two cadres in serving the Weichai Yaxing project. He told the reporter: "I spend half a day on this project every day."

A person in charge at Weichai Yaxing remarked: Party members charge ahead, projects run ahead, and "Party member service" has become a bright calling card recognized by enterprises and projects. The reporter learned that Hanjiang's project construction is buzzing: the approval pace of the Tong'an ground-source heat pump project with total investment of 1.1 billion yuan has accelerated, and site leveling will begin soon; the Berk Biopharma project led by Dr. Wang Fei, an expert under the national "Thousand Talents Plan," with total investment of 1 billion yuan, has topped out the main structure of its 16,000-square-meter factory building and is undergoing interior and exterior decoration; the Wenchang Ledu Hui project with total investment of 120 million US dollars has begun pile foundation construction; procedures for the Vanke commercial complex project are being processed at an accelerated pace...

"Major projects are the touchstone; how cadres perform is judged by how they serve projects," Shen Wenjie told the reporter. The district has made serving major projects an important criterion for assessing departments and cadres.
