On February 1, at the Hangzhou-Shaoxing-Taizhou Railway construction site in Linhai, Zhejiang, the first pair of 500-meter-long steel rails was safely and smoothly laid onto the ballastless track bed, marking the transition of the Hangzhou-Shaoxing-Taizhou Railway project to the full-line track laying stage.
The Hangzhou-Shaoxing-Taizhou Railway is China's first high-speed railway project controlled by private capital. Connecting the three prefecture-level cities of Hangzhou, Shaoxing and Taizhou in Zhejiang, the line is designed for a speed of 350 kilometers per hour, and the project is scheduled to be completed and opened to traffic in 2021.
