At around 9 a.m. on January 30, the cutterhead of the "Fenjin" shield machine for the left line from October Square Station to Jinling Petrochemical Station in the Civil Engineering Section 3 of TA02 Bid of Nanjing Metro Line 6 began to rotate slowly and launched smoothly, marking another major progress in the construction of the Civil Engineering Section 3 of TA02 Bid.

Up to now, the construction of the Civil Engineering Section 3 of TA02 Bid of Nanjing Metro Line 6 has been progressing steadily and orderly. The excavation of the main station earthwork at October Square Station has been completed, and the bottom slab of the station is scheduled to be sealed before the Spring Festival.

To ensure the safety of shield tunneling construction, under the meticulous organization of the Line 6 Engineering Division of Nanjing Metro Construction Co., Ltd., all parties were brought together to carry out extensive preparatory work. Experts were organized multiple times to review the construction plans and optimize the special construction scheme and various emergency plans. Experts were also organized multiple times to visit the shield machine manufacturer for inspection, maintenance guidance, and shield machine acceptance. At the same time, stratigraphic and geological research and monitoring and measurement work were well conducted to minimize the safety risks of tunneling in complex strata to the greatest extent, ensuring the smooth launch of the first shield machine.

Nanjing Metro Line 6 is a north-south line in the Nanjing Metro network. It passes through Qixia District, Xuanwu District, Qinhuai District, Yuhuatai District, and Jiangning District. The line starts at Qixiashan Station in the north, runs west through the Nanjing Economic and Technological Development Zone, turns south at Yanyao Road Station, and then continues south into the main urban area, ending at Nanjing South Railway Station in the southern new town. The line is 32.4 kilometers long and is fully underground, with 19 underground stations. The trains use six-car B-type drum-shaped trains, and after completion, the line will operate through services with Nanjing Metro Line S1.
