2021年1月26日，乌鲁木齐地铁2号线有一段隧道贯通了，该段为轨道交通 2号线05标段。回顾过去4个月，10月27日，碾子沟站至南梁坡站区间贯通，12月中旬，农业大学站至马料区间右线贯通，如今，又一区段也贯通了。
乌鲁木齐地铁2号线一期共设置10个车站，位于南门至华山街站之间，途径乌鲁木齐站，是乌鲁木齐地铁一条东西走向的线路，同地铁1号线相交于南门。在2021年的乌鲁木齐政府工作报告中也提出稳步推进地铁2号线的建设，期待地铁2号线在今年能给大家带来更多的惊喜。
