At the beginning of the new year, good news keeps coming from Guangxi's "Five Networks" construction projects: the arch ribs of the Shawwei Zuojiang Grand Bridge on the Nanning South Ring Expressway (Wuxu Airport to Long'an Section) were successfully closed; the Bama to Pingguo section of the Tian'e to Beihai Expressway started construction; China Huaneng Group's offshore wind power project landed in Qinzhou; more than half of the tunnels on the entire Guiyang-Nanning high-speed railway have been completed; the Liunan intelligent automobile warehousing and logistics industrial park started construction...

　　In 2020, Guangxi's three-year "Five Networks" construction campaign, launched amid the pandemic, pressed ahead against difficulties, seeking opportunities in crisis and breaking through dilemmas. That year, the region started construction on 2,447 "Five Networks" projects, completed 483 projects, and finished investment of 301.2 billion yuan, exceeding the annual target by more than 40 billion yuan.

　　In terms of the transportation network, the electrification renovation of the Huaihua to Liuzhou section of the Jiaozuo-Liuzhou Railway, seven expressways including the Yulin to Zhanjiang Expressway (Guangxi section), and three ordinary highways including G358 Pingnan Da'an to Zhenlong were completed; projects such as the second-line ship lock project of the Guigang shipping hub on the Xijiang shipping trunk line, the Beihai Airport apron expansion, the Yulin Fumian Airport, and the first phase of Nanning Rail Transit Line 4 were completed.

　　In terms of the energy network, a number of backbone power grid projects were completed and put into operation, including the Wudongde Hydropower Station Guangdong-Guangxi UHV multi-terminal DC demonstration project, a major national west-to-east power transmission project, and the Rongshui 220 kV Beijiang Station; a new round of rural power grid renovation was completed, and projects such as the Majia Wind Farm were built.

　　In terms of the information network, projects such as the Inspur Group production base and the first phase of the China (Xilin) Commercial Big Data Center were completed; 21,000 5G base stations were built across the region, achieving basically continuous 5G network coverage in the main urban areas of 14 prefecture-level cities and 5G network coverage in key areas of county towns and townships. Gigabit-to-the-home optical networks were built and opened in cities at and above the county level, making Guangxi the "first province-level region for gigabit optical networks." The inter-provincial internet export bandwidth reached 36.34 million megabits, the construction of a new generation of internet infrastructure was comprehensively advanced, and the region added 11.15 million IoT users, reaching 15.921 million.

　　In terms of the logistics network, projects such as the customs supervision operation site of the Nanning International Railway Port, the Liuzhou Transfar Highway Port, the Land-Sea New Corridor smart logistics cold-chain supply chain, and the Liuzhou Bonded Logistics Center (Type B) were completed.

　　In terms of the underground pipeline network, a number of projects such as the sewage pipeline construction project in Nanning High-tech Zone and the drainage project on Fumin Third Road in Wuzhou were completed.

　　According to a responsible person from the Development and Reform Commission of the autonomous region, in 2021 Guangxi will increase planning for "Five Networks" projects, strengthen project reserves for 2021-2022, focus on factor guarantees, broaden project financing channels, and strive to complete 75 billion yuan in the first quarter and achieve the annual "Five Networks" construction investment target of 350 billion yuan.
