At 10 a.m. on the 11th, the Caiying Tunnel on Section 7 of the newly built Fuzhou-Xiamen Railway successfully broke through. Located in Shijing Town, Nan'an City, the tunnel is the longest on the section managed by the Xiamen Command of the newly built Fuzhou-Xiamen Railway (the line has 45 tunnels in total, 20 of which are under the Xiamen Command), with a total length of 3,250 meters.

It is understood that the main works of Section 7 of the Fuzhou-Xiamen Railway are nearly 80% complete. In 2021, the section will focus on advancing construction of the steel girder erection for the main bridge of the Anhai Bay Grand Bridge, the bridge deck system and other remaining works.

The newly built Fuzhou-Xiamen Railway is Fujian Province's first high-speed railway with a design speed of 350 kilometers per hour, with a total length of 277.42 kilometers. Once completed, the journey from Fuzhou to Xiamen will be shortened to within one hour, providing strong momentum for building a "one-hour economic circle" along the Fujian coast.
