Recently, the first meeting of the First Technical Committee of the National Engineering Laboratory for Highway Maintenance Equipment was held in Xinxiang City, Henan Province. Relevant leaders and industry experts from the laboratory's construction unit, Henan Gaoyuan Highway Maintenance Technology Co., Ltd., and its co-construction units—the Research Institute of Highway of the Ministry of Transport, Chang'an University, CCCC Xi'an Road Construction Machinery Co., Ltd., and Henan Gaoyuan Highway Maintenance Equipment Co., Ltd.—attended the meeting.

    Appointed by the council of the National Engineering Laboratory, 19 experts from fields related to the R&D, design, and manufacturing of highway maintenance equipment formed the First Technical Committee, which has one chairman, one executive vice chairman, and two vice chairmen. Hou Shuguang, deputy director of the National Engineering Laboratory for Highway Maintenance Equipment, presented a report on the laboratory's technical development plan to the Technical Committee, covering R&D content, the overall technical roadmap, medium- and long-term construction goals, safeguard measures, and operating mechanisms. The report proposed that the laboratory will closely align with major national strategic needs and industrial development requirements, focusing mainly on technical breakthroughs and product development for pavement recycling equipment, preventive pavement maintenance equipment, high-performance pavement paving equipment, pavement inspection equipment, and special pavement material processing equipment. It will prioritize resolving bottlenecks in the design technology of key components and complete machines for domestically produced highway maintenance equipment, enhance independent innovation capability, and promote the technological upgrading of China's highway maintenance equipment industry. The laboratory will actively build an efficient industry-university-research platform and an international open system, and develop into a high-level innovation base, academic exchange base, and talent training base for China's highway maintenance equipment. After listening to and deliberating on the laboratory's technical development plan, the committee experts held that the plan is based on the laboratory's current situation, with specific and detailed content, clear goals, a well-defined approach, and appropriate and feasible measures, and that it conforms to the direction of the laboratory's construction and development.
