On the morning of January 11, after 24 hours of continuous welding, the final deck panel of the Hanjiang Bay Bridge was successfully joined, marking the completion of the main bridge deck of the Wuhan Hanjiang Bay Bridge. The project is constructed by Wuhan Urban Construction Investment Group, built on behalf of Tianxingzhou Road and Bridge Company, designed by China Railway Major Bridge Engineering Group Survey and Design Institute, and constructed by China Railway Major Bridge Engineering Group. This signals a decisive step toward the bridge's opening to traffic.

　　The Hanjiang Bay Bridge, formerly known as the Jianghan No. 7 Bridge, is located between the Zhiyin Bridge and the Gutian Bridge. On the Hankou side it connects to Gutian No. 4 Road, and on the Hanyang side it connects to Yulong Road. The project has a total length of 2,754 meters, and the main bridge is a half-through steel truss tied-arch bridge with a main span of 408 meters. At the main pier supports there is a bridgehead structure that blends perfectly with the cultural environment of Hanjiang Bay.

　　The reporter learned that, affected by the epidemic in early last year and the floods in mid-year, all participating units of the Jianghan No. 7 Bridge worked together with meticulous planning to make up for lost time. While tackling epidemic prevention and flood control on one hand, they pursued work resumption and schedule recovery on the other. They held multiple expert review meetings on optimizing the main bridge construction schedule, optimized the main bridge hoisting and welding processes to save construction time for each segment, and at the same time installed the temporary tie steel strands of the main bridge in advance, optimizing the transition between the two procedures of main arch closure and deck erection. Ultimately, the main arch was closed 5 days ahead of schedule, and the main bridge deck was closed on schedule.

　　Once completed, the Hanjiang Bay Bridge will form a convenient transportation network among the five districts of Qiaokou, Jianghan, Dongxihu, Hanyang and Zhuankou, promoting economic exchange and development among the five districts. It will play a key role in promoting economic construction in Gutian, Huangjinkou, Longyang and areas along the route and in improving the traffic conditions in the region, and is of great significance to achieving functional integration between Hankou and Hanyang.
