On January 8, good news came from the Yangmeizhou Bridge project construction department: the 15 pile foundations of the east-bank main bridge have been poured, and bridge structure construction is about to begin.

　　At the project site, workers were operating 2 percussion drills and 1 rotary drilling rig, working intensively in the yellow mud. The rotary drilling rig kept rotating deep in the pile holes, while excavators and transport vehicles nearby removed the soil in a timely manner. Beside the 23# main tower on the east bank, workers were installing a tower crane, making final preparations for the resumption of construction on the main tower.

　　Yangmeizhou Bridge starts from the North Second Ring Road in the north, crosses Yangmeizhou and connects with Lanyuan Road, and extends south to Hedong Avenue, with a total length of 10.04 kilometers. The project began construction in July 2016 and was fully suspended on June 30, 2019, due to policy adjustments and other reasons. Before the suspension, the overall progress of Yangmeizhou Bridge was about 30%, the south approach road about 10%, the north approach road about 60%, and the first phase of the West Second Ring Road about 70%.

　　On November 13, 2020, the entire Yangmeizhou Bridge line resumed construction. Hou Xiangya, the on-site project manager of Chengfa Group, introduced that according to the design plan, the east-bank main bridge of Yangmeizhou Bridge has a total of 68 piles, each with a diameter of 2 meters and a depth of 30-50 meters, and all pile foundation construction is expected to be completed in early February this year. Since the drilling of the first pile foundation on the east bank began on December 12, 2020, construction of the bridge's main structure has officially started, and all construction personnel have adopted a "white + black" and "5 + 2" work mode, carrying out construction continuously 24 hours a day.

　　At present, the project has completed the construction of a new project department site at the west-bank ramp, the installation of the tower crane and construction elevator for the west-bank main tower, and the pouring of 15 pile foundations for the east-bank main bridge. Bridge structure construction is about to begin.
