On July 13, the main tower of the Yuhuan Xuanmen Bay Bridge, constructed by CCCC Second Highway Engineering Co., Ltd., was successfully capped, marking the completion of all main steel structure construction tasks for the main bridge.

Tian Xin, general manager of the Second Company of CCCC Second Highway Engineering Co., Ltd., said: “The people of the Second Highway Engineering Bureau will keep in mind the corporate mission of ‘consolidating foundations and cultivating the way, upholding integrity and reaching far,’ and in the spirit of ‘blending with the world, builders without borders,’ take the capping of the main tower as a new starting point, give full play to the management and technical advantages of CCCC Second Highway Engineering Co., Ltd. in the field of large bridge construction, and ensure standardized construction, standardized operations, and refined management to guarantee that the bridge opens to traffic on schedule.”

The Xuanmen Bay Bridge and connecting line project in Yuhuan City is a key livelihood project in Yuhuan City, consisting of a main line and a branch line. The main line is 1.58 kilometers long, and the branch line is 1.814 kilometers long. The controlling project, the Xuanmen Bay Bridge, is a single-tower spatial double-cable-plane “moon ring + H” shaped cable-stayed bridge, the first of its kind in China. The main tower hoisting consists of segments E, D, C, B, A, and the crossbeam. The capping installation of segments A1 and A2 on the right span weighs about 60 tons. Since the project started on June 1, 2018, with the full cooperation of units at all levels and the joint efforts of all construction personnel, key milestone tasks such as pile foundation excavation, cap pouring, and steel box girder hoisting have been completed with high quality and efficiency.
