The Municipal Planning Bureau officially responded yesterday that it was a clerical error in the address records, mainly that the actual addresses of "Songjian Second Lane" and "Songjian Third Lane" are "Meijian Second Lane" and "Meijian Third Lane".

In addition, the Planning Bureau also stated that there may be other valuable protection clues within the planning scope, and hopes that citizens and the media will recommend them. Cultural relic experts will screen them, and those with real historical and cultural value will be incorporated into the plan along with issues collected during the public consultation period.

A responsible person from the Municipal Planning Bureau stated that the planning department immediately conducted on-site re-investigation and review work regarding the address errors in some recommended clues reported by the media. Currently, the clerical errors in the address name records have been corrected. Mainly, the actual addresses of "Songjian Second Lane" and "Songjian Third Lane" are "Meijian Second Lane" and "Meijian Third Lane". Involving numbers 8, 9, 14, and 15. These residential buildings are typical traditional dwellings of Hedong Village, with complete styles and value for recommendation as protection clues.

Why choose 31 places as historical and cultural resources for protection? The responsible person stated that the planning scope of Guanggang New Town includes the Guanggang factory area and the three villages of Hedong, Donglang, and Xilang. Among them, Guanggang is a representative of large-scale heavy industrial enterprises newly built after the liberation of Guangzhou and has made important contributions to national economic construction. It is also an important memory of Guangzhou city, especially the collective memory of several generations of "Guanggang people" who have lived and worked there. Need recognition by relevant departments to be considered cultural relics

In addition to industrial relics, more than half of the historic buildings in Guanggang New Town are ancient village dwellings. Due to urban development, although these villages have become urban villages, some ancestral halls and traditional dwellings are still preserved. They are important carriers of village history and public activities, with typical styles and exquisite components, and have protection value. If the transformation of urban villages can retain and revitalize them, it can serve to continue the history of the old villages and provide characteristic landscapes and functions for the new town. The responsible person emphasized that the protection clues for the old villages and old factories recommended this time still need to be recognized by the cultural relics authorities and the planning and construction authorities before they can truly be included in the protection system.
