On January 12, with the completion of the final concrete pour, the main works of the Zhengzhou South Railway Station metro project station were fully completed, creating construction conditions for the next phase of the Zhengzhou South Railway Station hub project.

The Zhengzhou South Railway Station metro project is designed with two underground stations. The Line 9 station is located beneath the departure hall of the national railway Zhengzhou South Railway Station and runs east-west along the departure hall. It is a two-level underground island platform station with a length of 672.64 m, a standard section width of 22.9 m, and a total building area of 36,588.55 m². The Line 13 station is located to the west of the side station building of the national railway Zhengzhou South Railway Station and runs north-south along the side station building. It is a three-level underground island platform station with a length of 327.5 m, a standard section width of 23.5 m, and a total building area of 22,846.95 m².

The Zhengzhou South Railway Station metro project is an important component of the Zhengzhou South Railway Station hub project and also an early-phase project of the hub. The completion of this project on schedule has created construction conditions for the subsequent construction of Zhengzhou South Railway Station.

Upon completion, Zhengzhou South Railway Station will rank alongside Zhengzhou East Railway Station as the second-largest high-speed railway station in the country. Construction of the Zhengzhou South Railway Station hub project will proceed in sequence: the Zhengzhou South Railway Station metro project, the national railway Zhengzhou South Railway Station yard project, and the national railway Zhengzhou South Railway Station building project. Once completed, it will form a "three-station" configuration together with Zhengzhou Railway Station and Zhengzhou East Railway Station, and, together with Zhengzhou Xinzheng International Airport, create an "air-rail dual-core drive." It will be a modern large-scale comprehensive transportation hub integrating high-speed rail, intercity rail, metro, highway passenger transport, urban bus, and urban taxi services, further strengthening Zhengzhou's position as a three-dimensional comprehensive transportation hub.
