This morning, reporters at the construction site of the Zhangqiu Passenger Transport Terminal comprehensive hub project observed that the project has entered the pile foundation construction phase, with drilling, hole cleaning, lifting, and pouring procedures proceeding in an orderly and smooth manner. The entire project requires 459 piles, of which 350 have been completed. The project is progressing smoothly and is expected to be completed and put into use during the National Day holiday next year.
Shi Xiuzhong, general manager of the Zhangqiu Branch of Shandong Provincial Transportation Group Co., Ltd., told reporters that the Zhangqiu Passenger Transport Terminal project has a total investment of approximately 290 million yuan and a total construction area of 82,500 square meters. The main station building includes 13 ticket windows, 22 ticket gates, 40 departure bays, 6 arrival bays, and 253 parking spaces. Key construction includes infrastructure such as the waiting hall, driver and crew apartments, gas station, maintenance workshop, and parking lot, equipped with modern facilities such as computerized ticketing, barcode ticket inspection systems, television monitoring, electronic guidance and touch-screen inquiry systems, and automatic car washing machines.
“The new passenger transport terminal is planned and designed according to the Ministry of Transport's Class 1 passenger station standards. The overall building layout is U-shaped, with supporting bus departure and arrival areas on the north and south sides, including supporting commerce, catering, business offices, and refueling and gas stations.” Shi Xiuzhong said, “After completion, the transport capacity will reach 735 scheduled departures per day, 19,000 passengers sent per day, and an annual passenger volume of 7 million.”
According to reports, as a demonstration project for regional transportation modernization in Shandong Province and one of the main passenger transport hubs for urban-rural transportation integration, Zhangqiu Passenger Transport Terminal will accommodate multiple transportation modes, including long-distance scheduled bus passenger transport, urban scheduled bus passenger transport, village-bound scheduled bus passenger transport, regular public bus passenger transport, tourist passenger transport, urban taxi passenger transport, and future intercity rail transit passenger transport. At that time, pedestrian, logistics, and vehicle flows will be separated in three dimensions without crossing each other, enabling seamless “zero-distance transfers” with urban buses, taxis, and high-speed rail, thereby further improving urban service functions, enhancing the urban environment, and making passenger travel more comfortable and convenient.
