On June 20, Tianjin's first comprehensive emergency drill for deep foundation pit water seepage and soil collapse accidents was successfully completed. The drill was hosted by the Municipal Construction and Transportation Commission, the Municipal Construction Engineering Quality and Safety Supervision General Team, Tianjin Metro Group Co., Ltd., and Tianjin Urban Construction Group Co., Ltd. Relevant units including the Municipal Public Security Bureau and Tianjin No. 6 Municipal Engineering Co., Ltd. participated in the emergency drill. Leaders from relevant units such as the Municipal Emergency Management Office and the Administration of Work Safety attended.

The background of the emergency drill simulated a soil collapse accident caused by water seepage in a deep foundation pit during the construction of the Hongqi Road transfer station on Metro Line 6. It covered items including alarm reporting and receiving, initiation of the emergency plan, emergency command and dispatch, on-site security, assembly of emergency teams, medical rescue of trapped personnel, emergency response to deep foundation pit soil collapse, water seepage in the retaining structure, and pipeline settlement accidents, as well as cleanup of the accident site, lasting 90 minutes. The drill was carefully organized in aspects such as planning, formulation of plans and scripts, expert review, accident scenario design, preparation of emergency equipment, and tabletop and simulated drills, achieving the expected results.
