At 10 a.m. on June 26, after 90 days of continuous tunneling, the "Peony No. 4" shield machine broke through at Jiamaying Station on Luoyang Metro Line 1.
　　With this, Luoyang Metro Line 1 has achieved full-line "tunnel breakthrough" and thereby entered a new construction stage, laying the foundation for ensuring smooth opening and operation in June 2021.
　　On December 26, 2017, the first shield machine for Luoyang Metro Line 1, "Peony No. 1," began tunneling at Shijiawan Station. During the one-and-a-half-year construction period, Luoyang Metro Line 1 successively put 18 Luoyang-manufactured shield machines into section tunnel construction, smoothly completing the tunnel construction tasks of 19 sections, 38 tunnels and 38.3 kilometers.
　　A person in charge of Luoyang Rail Transit Group said that Luoyang's first metro line took less than two years from commencement to "tunnel breakthrough," demonstrating the "Luoyang speed" and also laying the foundation for the smooth implementation of a series of follow-up construction tasks, including achieving full-line "track breakthrough" by the end of this year as well as mechanical and electrical equipment installation and vehicle debugging.
　　The main structures of all stations and the section tunnels along the entire Luoyang Metro Line 1 have been fully completed, marking the end of all main civil engineering works for Metro Line 1.
　　At present, track-laying operations along the entire Metro Line 1 are being accelerated in an all-round way. Four track-laying bases are carrying out track-laying operations at full capacity, and 9% of the total project volume has been completed; construction of auxiliary facilities at stations along the entire line is being accelerated in an all-round way, and 25% of the total project volume has been completed. According to the plan, it will be ensured that Metro Line 1 achieves "track breakthrough" before the end of the year.
