学院坐落在斯文顿市一个历史名镇——Railway Village。此项改造计划将保留该校区一个已被划为二级文化保护建筑和一个水塔。新建成的教研中心与现有的校区建筑相分离，入口可以直通作品展示区同时可以看到设计工厂内的工作情况。新学院的场地原是一个两层楼高的旧磨厂房，建筑师在改造过程中保留了厂房上方的钢构架，以作为对历史的一种怀念。
Scott Brownrigg事务所项目负责人，Jon James表示：如何在不破坏历史性文化古迹的基础上进行设计是我们此次改造项目的重点，而这一挑战也让我们有机会完成一个尊重工业文化发展历史的标志性建筑。我们对此感到非常荣幸。
