Since the beginning of this year, the Housing and Urban-Rural Development Department of the Ningxia Hui Autonomous Region has strengthened leadership, organized carefully, reinforced measures, and vigorously pursued implementation, urging all cities and counties to intensify their efforts, promptly secure supporting funds and construction land, and accelerate the full-scale commencement of construction of affordable housing projects.

　　In 2013, the state assigned Ningxia an affordable housing project plan of 57,031 units, including 4,970 households newly added to receive low-rent housing rental subsidies and more than 52,000 units (households) of newly built various types of security housing. As of the end of June, the region had started construction on 40,850 units (households) of various types of security housing, accounting for 78.5% of the annual plan, 16.9 percentage points higher than the same period last year, achieving the goal of more than half the time elapsed and more than half the tasks completed.
