On the morning of July 16, the Construction Machinery Management Office of the Xinjiang Uygur Autonomous Region was inaugurated in Urumqi, marking the end of a situation in which the region's construction machinery industry had no regulatory body.

　　In recent years, Xinjiang's railway, highway, industrial and agricultural infrastructure construction and urban municipal engineering construction have developed rapidly, construction machinery and equipment have grown rapidly, and the ranks of construction machinery and equipment operators and management personnel have continued to expand. In order to earnestly implement the State Council's "Outline for Quality Development," advance quality-driven development activities in the construction machinery and equipment industry, promote the healthy and orderly development of the industry, curb the occurrence of sudden incidents involving construction machinery and equipment, and solve problems for construction machinery and equipment such as difficulty in identification, difficulty in obtaining insurance, difficulty in safeguarding rights, and difficulty in financing, the Autonomous Region Construction Machinery Management Office came into being.

　　According to reports, the main responsibilities of the Autonomous Region Construction Machinery Management Office include: strengthening quality and safety supervision of construction machinery and preventing safety hazards; regularly conducting lectures on work safety knowledge and supervising and regulating the construction machinery industry; establishing a national construction machinery database and conducting surveys, registration, and numbering of construction machinery and equipment throughout Xinjiang; improving the quality of practitioners and building a local service platform for work safety; organizing on-site emergency rescue for engineering projects to reduce casualties and material losses; being responsible for training construction machinery operators and issuing qualification certificates upon passing examinations; and providing a basis for national economic census statistics.

　　It is reported that after its establishment, the Autonomous Region Construction Machinery Management Office, in accordance with the requirements of the China Association of Plant Engineering and in light of Xinjiang's actual conditions, will establish construction machinery management offices (stations) and corresponding service centers in 13 prefectures and 17 cities.
