Deforestation for farming and excessive logging have severely damaged forest resources, and the human living environment is deteriorating. In response to this global phenomenon of continuously shrinking forest resources, protecting existing forest resources is particularly important. Anhui Sentai Wood-Plastic New Materials Co., Ltd. (Sentai Wood-Plastic for short) attaches great importance to this, actively develops the wood-plastic industry, does a good job in resource recycling, strictly controls quality, and produces low-carbon and eco-friendly wood-plastic products, forming a unique new model for forest protection. 　　Producing Wood “Substitutes”

　　Pioneering a New Model for Forest Protection

　　When talking about his contributions to environmental protection, Tang Daoyuan appeared very proud, because the contribution of the wood-plastic industry developed by Sentai Wood-Plastic to environmental protection is mainly reflected in reducing deforestation. Official data from the State Forestry Administration show that every additional ton of wood-plastic products used is equivalent to one cubic meter less of forest being cut down. Up to now, the production capacity of Sentai Wood-Plastic is equivalent to saving 60,000 30-year-old trees (that is, trees across dozens of hectares) from being cut down.

　　The power of an enterprise is relatively small, so Sentai Wood-Plastic donated to the China Green Foundation established by the State Forestry Administration and launched the public-welfare Sentai Wood-Plastic Forest Protection Action. This action was launched on March 21, 2012, coinciding with the 40th anniversary of “World Forest Day.” The Sentai Wood-Plastic Forest Protection Action means that for every ton of wood-plastic products sold, Sentai Wood-Plastic will donate 50 yuan to the foundation. This year, Sentai Wood-Plastic donated 2 million yuan at one time, mainly to arouse everyone's attention to forest protection and to start from every enterprise and every worker to protect the great forests on which we depend for survival.

　　Strict Requirements

　　Giving Equal Attention to Resource Recycling and Product Quality

　　In the company's development process, Tang Daoyuan requires not only good resource recycling work but also guaranteed product quality and environmental friendliness. About 60% of the raw materials for wood-plastic products are wood chips or bamboo chips, and 30% are recycled shampoo bottles, body wash bottles, motor oil jugs, dishwashing liquid bottles, and the like, most of which are waste. The production process is similar to the extrusion process for plastic-steel doors and windows, applying plastic modification and wood powder and bamboo powder encapsulation technologies, and is highly technology-intensive.

　　The wood-plastic products produced by Sentai Wood-Plastic are more eco-friendly, can be used outdoors for a long time, do not rot, and are not prone to cracking. To a large extent, the products retain the characteristics of wood, but they are like wood and better than wood, and can also be recycled and reused, which is unmatched by other current materials.

　　Putting Social Interests First

　　Only Then Can an Enterprise Go Further

　　Regarding the Anxin “toxic flooring” incident, the Nature Flooring “fraud scandal,” and various “quality scandals” in the building materials industry, Tang Daoyuan felt very regretful. He believes that every enterprise must have its own responsibility and conscience, and producing high-quality products that are harmless to human health and the environment is the minimum responsibility of an enterprise.

　　Enterprises should not pursue only short-term interests but should operate as century-old establishments. For Tang Daoyuan, he cannot wave the banner and say that the products produced are green and eco-friendly while producing products harmful to humanity, as that would violate the corporate philosophy in his mind. In the production process, he requires strict control of raw and auxiliary materials and materials; only by producing high-quality products that meet industry needs can an enterprise go further.

　　In fierce market competition, it is inevitable to encounter situations where social interests conflict with company interests. Tang Daoyuan believes that both must be taken into account, but social interests should be safeguarded more. For an enterprise, while pursuing development, it must put social interests in a very important position. At present, Tang Daoyuan has already begun the pace of listing Sentai Wood-Plastic, aiming to integrate more resources, promote better development of the wood-plastic industry, and contribute to environmental protection.
