[Abstract] On July 14, 2013, the launch ceremony of the "Post Skills Promote Revitalization, Youth Contribute to the Chinese Dream" campaign to find the "Most Beautiful Young Workers" and the 9th "Revitalization Cup" National Youth Vocational Skills Competition (Guangdong Division) was held today. The Guangzhou East Tower, an iconic building under construction in Guangzhou, has just passed the most complex truss level and is climbing toward 300 meters.

    It is understood that this skills competition is hosted by the Communist Youth League Guangdong Provincial Committee and the Guangdong Provincial Department of Human Resources and Social Security, co-organized by China Construction Fourth Engineering Division Co., Ltd., and undertaken by the general contracting project department (East Tower Project) of China State Construction Engineering Corporation Limited for the Guangzhou Chow Tai Fook Financial Center. The skills competition will be held on a work floor of the East Tower's third level that has been converted into a venue. More than 100 experts from the province's construction industry will first gather at the East Tower construction site to demonstrate their skills. Among them, processes such as rebar tying, electrical box assembly, and rapid assembly of aluminum alloy modular scaffolding will be demonstrated on site, and the experts will compete and exchange skills with one another.
    The Guangzhou East Tower, also known as Chow Tai Fook Centre, is a real estate project located in the central area of Guangzhou's Zhujiang New Town CBD. Its planned use is commercial office space, with a site area of 26,494.184 square meters, a planned gross floor area of 350,000 square meters above ground, and 18,000 square meters of underground commercial space. The plot ratio reaches 13, and it is explicitly designated for super high-rise construction. This is also the last commercial land parcel sold in the Zhujiang New Town core business district. It is expected to be completed at 530 meters with 116 floors. The overall appearance of the East Tower is divided into three sections according to different functional positioning, presenting a rising trend section by section. As the main office portion, its height is still lower than that of the West Tower, so it can also harmonize with the West Tower in terms of height, building mass, and building function. When people standing on the ground look upward from below at the connection between the first and second sections, its extended line exactly reaches the top of the TV Tower.
    China Construction Fourth Engineering Division Co., Ltd. stated that since construction began on August 6, 2011, the project department has overcome difficulties such as a tight schedule, a narrow site, high construction difficulty, complex processes, and high technical requirements. Construction has now reached the 52nd floor at a height of 256 meters. The main structure of the project is expected to be completed before the Spring Festival in 2014.
