1月19日上午10时，正在建设中的玉临高速公路泰和隧道，随着离洞口3000米的右幅掌子面最后一声炮响，一段1.3米长的岩体被炸开，隧道两端的工人激动欢呼，隧道贯通（左幅1月17日已贯通）至此，泰和隧道实现全线贯通。
位于镇沅县振太镇的泰和隧道是玉临高速公路控制性工程，属分离式隧道，左幅长6420米，右幅长6380米，单幅双向长近13公里，是我省在建高速公路特长隧道之一。
泰和隧道地质复杂，渗水量大，围岩差，施工方过998天的艰苦奋战，采用短进尺，弱爆破，强支护，勤衬砌的施工方法，稳步高效的推进隧道工程，实现了零安全事故，零质量事故，比合同工期提前8个月贯通。
