On January 12, at the start of the 2019 New Year, safety and life protection engineering projects for a total of 74 highways—provincial roads and county/township roads—within Shuyang's jurisdiction began construction intensively.

Provincial roads 344 and 326 have a length of 70.12 kilometers within Shuyang. The project construction involves the construction and defect repair of highway signs, road markings, highway guardrails, civil works, and other engineering, with a total investment of 483,000 yuan. There are 72 county and township roads, with a total investment of 20.527 million yuan, mainly involving the installation of crash barriers, highway signs, safety warning posts, painted road markings, and so on at unfavorable road sections such as dangerous bridges and hazardous sections, high embankments, sections adjacent to water and cliffs, and sharp curves. The main works of the two provincial road projects and the county and township road safety and life protection construction projects are planned to be completed before the Spring Festival.

With the Spring Festival approaching, the commencement of construction on the safety and life protection projects for 74 highways will effectively safeguard the county's highway traffic safety, enhance the public's sense of safety and happiness when traveling, further meet the public's need for a better life in highway transportation, and create a better and safer traffic environment for the people of Shuyang to celebrate the Spring Festival.
